Secrets of Adulthood

This post was inspired by Gretchen Rubin's book and blog The Happiness Project. I think a couple of these are direct quotes from her SOAs. And I know a couple were inspired by things friends said to me. My thanks to all of the above.

You can't make everyone happy, no matter how hard you try.

Every passing moment is another chance to turn it all around.

Multitasking doesn't really accomplish much more than doing things one at a time. And doing things one at a time is more pleasant.

People are not offended by what you write, they are challenged by it.

Think what you want.

Embarrassment is not fatal.

In the search for safety, you can't get 100% coverage.

Most of the time the only thing you can control is your attitude.

Vision shift

I've been exploring the idea of doing a paper vision board. It occurs to me, though, that I can more easily get to images on the 'net than I can find specific things in magazines. So, I'm going to do a series of posts here that will help me solidify my vision for 2010 and beyond, with labels at the bottom of the posts to create collections of related images and words.

Cocoa Revelations

We need to re-cover the sofa. Funny how I can ignore things like that until I decide to post a revealing photo on the Internet.

What Lies Beneath

This started out as a photo of a couple of magnets on our refrigerator, but then I became enamored of the reflections there instead.
